How Do I Manage Test Centers and Enable Them to Deliver Tests?
Test centers deliver tests to test-takers.
This section tells you how test centers are created and removed, which users and their associated roles need to be created within a test center, and how test centers can be licensed to assign deliveries to test-takers.
Note: Test centers are an integral part of the Ignite/Premium version of TAO.
Follow the steps below to create a new test center:
Typically, the administrator would set up the test center structure and create the different users with appropriate roles.
- Create a new test center.
To create a new test center in TAO, first, click the Test Centers icon in the Assessment Builder Bar. This opens the Test Centers page, with the library of test centers on the left.
The last test center to be edited (either by you or a previous user) will be highlighted in the library.
Next, click on the New Test Center icon in the button bank under the library. This will define a new test center in the selected folder.
Then, label your test center in the space provided on the canvas, then click Save.
- Assign the roles which your new test center will need.
There are two roles that need to be assigned within a test center:
Administrator: The Test Center Administrator manages the proctors at the test center, in other words, can create and remove proctors, as well as authorize them to proctor specific deliveries. Users with this role can also proctor themselves.
Proctor: The proctor role is assigned to the person who will oversee the execution of a particular delivery. See the section How can I proctor a test for more information on what proctoring entails.
Follow the steps below to enable the test center to assign a delivery to test-takers:
Before the new test center can deliver tests, it needs to be licensed for specific deliveries.
- Select the test center which is to assign the delivery.
This may be the test center you have just created, or you may wish to license an existing test center to deliver a new test.
Click on the Test Centers icon in the assessment builder bar. This opens the Test Centers page, with the library of test centers on the left.
The last test center to be edited (either by you or a previous user) will be highlighted in the library.
Next, select from the library the test center you wish to assign the delivery to a group of test-takers.
- Add your delivery to their list of eligible deliveries.
At the bottom of the canvas which appears is a list of Eligible Deliveries. In the list are the deliveries that a test center can assign to its test-takers.
Now, click on Add to add a delivery from your delivery library to their Eligible Deliveries, or click on Import to import a delivery from another computer.
