Thinking About Test Questions (and Choosing Interactions) According to Task Type
Delivering tests via test centers
For a test to be delivered to test-takers by a test center, the delivery first needs to be licensed to the test center in question. This is done by referring it to the appropriate test centers. Normally, it would be the Global Manager who does this, but it is also possible to set up a user with the additional role of Test Center Manager to do it.
Note: Test centers can be used in the Community edition as well as the Ignite edition of TAO, by installing the extension: TestCenter.
First, the test center in question needs to be selected from the Test Center library. Once the credentials of the right test center are on the screen, there are two things to do:
- the delivery in question needs to be added to their list of eligible deliveries
- the test-takers who are to sit the test need to be chosen from the list of eligible test-takers.
See the chapter Delivering tests via test centers in the User Guide for more detailed information on how to do this.
Licensing a delivery to a test center
At the test center, the global manager (or test center manager, if another user has been assigned this additional role in order to carry out this task) will see a list of Eligible deliveries – these are the deliveries which have been licensed to that test center. The global manager or test center manager can then assign test-takers the appropriate deliveries, as shown in the image below.
Assigning test-takers at a test center
Next to the Eligible deliveries box there is box of Eligible test-takers, in which the test-takers for a specific delivery are assigned. The global manager (or any role that inherits the additional role of test center manager) can assign test-takers to the eligible deliveries.
Note: When you are creating your delivery, if you are using test centers you cannot assign a delivery to groups, although the 'Assigned to' group screen still comes up on the properties screen of the delivery. (If you do assign the delivery to groups when delivering it via test centers, nothing will happen.)
