How do importing users to existing groups?
TAO Portal provides a beta version of CSV Import, which allows admins to import users to groups via CSV file (rather than manually linking users to groups in the Portal).
Linking a new user with an existing group
- In the Bulk import data window, select Download CSV templates.
- In your downloads, open link-new-user-to-groups.csv.
- In the CSV file, populate each selection field with your information according to the entities defined in each column (in the top row of the template table).
Linking an existing user with an existing group
- In the Bulk import data window, select Download CSV templates.
- In your downloads, open link-existing-user-to-groups.csv.
- In the CSV file, populate each selection field with your information according to the entities defined in each column (in the top row of the template table).
Updating a user in an existing group
- To update a user, you need to enter the mandatory entity values (username). All other values can be updated.
- If a value in a column is left blank, the corresponding value is removed (if it is not mandatory, otherwise it will trigger an error).
- If a value in a column has a new value, it will replace the previous value.
- If the column is removed, the existing value will be kept.
